Today, we shine the spotlight on Emperor Echo of the Templars, a figure many in the community are quite familiar with. Let’s take a closer look at his background, leadership journey, and what he has to share with the community.
Early Days in Club Penguin Armies
Echo first joined the Club Penguin Armies community in 2015, although his journey in Club Penguin began as early as 2008. His first army was the Blue Miners Army, and he also spent time in the Ice Warriors. In 2019, he was recruited into the Templars by Xing and steadily rose through the ranks to become Grand Prior a position equivalent to leader.
Following that, Echo served in several prominent armies, including the Doritos, Ice Warriors, and others like Mayhem and Team Yellow Army, contributing as both Staff and HCOM. Eventually, he returned to the Templars as Grand Prior, where he helped lead the army to impressive heights, achieving maxes of 100+ troops. For his contributions, The Templars awarded Echo the Legend status and co-led the army alongside Xing and Racecar before retiring.
The Rise of an Emperor
After retiring in 2021, Echo made a comeback in 2024 when the Templars faced a leadership crisis. With leaders stepping down and the U.S. division weakening as Sidie’s leadership was focused on Ausia divison, Echo stepped in alongside Mocha to stabilize the US division.
As summer drew to a close, war broke out with the Secret Service, accompanied by internal drama. It was a difficult period for TCP as leaders departed, and Echo himself faced attempts to defame and discredit him.

Despite the pressure, Echo’s loyalty and passion for the army never wavered. Rather than stepping away, he chose to stay and rebuild. Through perseverance and dedication, he helped revive the army from the ground up. His efforts paid off in early 2025, the Templars returned to major army status, and the army’s founder Xing recognized Echo as the unofficial emperor. In April, he was officially declared the Emperor of the Templars.

Looking back, what’s your favorite memory in the Club Penguin Army community?
I have many favourite memories but if I had to choose something I’d say probably the times I used to VC with people like Racecar and just talk about random stuff
What was your experience like when you first joined the Templars?
Oh I loved being in templars ever since I first joined, it was a chaotic server with almost no rules, and they were very rebellious in nature and I loved that. I loved that the community demanded one thing from us and we’d do the opposite
You’ve led through some tough times, How did you stay motivated during those periods?
My staff. The very loyal staff, the people, the leaders the core of templars did. At many points I thought about quitting but they’re the ones that put their faith in me so I kept on pushing regardless
What is your main ambition and goal as Emperor of the Templars?
Become number one again.
How do you handle criticism or pressure from the community?
Ah over the years I’ve built an idgaf attitude. I genuinely can’t be affected by much nowadays. It really does come with time under constant pressure you get used to it and stop caring.
What does being a leader mean to you personally?
It means an entire empire trusts that I’ll make the correct choices for the future of the army. It means I get to provide a place for thousands of people to come to and have fun, and most of all make friends.
