Redimus Invicti: The Romans Return to Club Penguin Armies

Redimus Invicti: The Romans Return to Club Penguin Armies

On June 8, 2025, the community witnessed the return of the Romans. As one of the oldest armies in Club Penguin history, the Romans were founded in October 2006 by Explorer7777. Let’s take a look back at their history and explore what the Romans have planned for this new era.

Army History

Soon after their founding, Romans declared war on Army of Club Penguin, led by Oagalthorp, but were defeated leading to Explorer7777 stepping down. Despite this, Romans lived on through rogue clans across Blizzard, Mammoth, and Tundra. In June 2007, Djgtjvgyhxgy revived the army by uniting these clans into an organized force. Romans went on to thrive for years across multiple generations until Club Penguin’s shutdown in March 2017.

Later, the army reopened on Club Penguin Rewritten under the supervision of Dj, Twitchy, and Antonio continuing its legacy through multiple generations of leaders, but eventually closed again in October 2020.

The Return

On June 8, 2025, Romans held their official inaugural event, marking a strong revival with a maximum size of 16 penguins online on Club Penguin Army Battleground. The event was led by their esteemed leaders: Games, Ulysses Nardo, Djgtjvgyhxgy, and Smurf. With a leadership team that includes two SM Legends and individuals with deep rooted experience in the army community, the future of the Romans looks promising.

The revival featured a conceptual event centered around fighting a dragon where troops threw snowballs and coordinated emote chants in a roleplay style attempt to defeat the dragon. According to the leaders, more creative and themed events like this are planned for the near future, signaling their intent to break away from traditional formats and bring fresh ideas to the community.

Club Penguin Armies Official approached Romans leaders for an exclusive interview to learn more about their plans and what they have to say to the community.

What inspired you to bring back the Romans in 2025, and why now?

Games : What inspires us to revive the Romans in 2025 is a desire to rekindle our passionate past and build a stronghold of innovation in a landscape where CPA has long stood for moral decay and complacency. Why now? One of our greatest leaders has returned, and with the freedom that summer offers, we finally have the support needed to turn the revival into reality.
Djgtjvgyhxgy : The desire to bring back the Romans has existed since the conclusion of our last generation in 2020. My fellow Legates alongside Twitchy543 have been organizing for a Roman revival for several years now. As for me personally, I joined in after Twitch informed me of their attempts while I was passing through some of my old army’s Discords the other month. Being that I’m using this year to revisit my old communities and hobbies before my life becomes much busier, jumping on to help the boys lead seemed like a natural step in that direction.
Smurf : Talk of bringing Romans back was in the works for a long time. Dj got word of it and took an interest in joining us, so here we are now. My stay at Romans in 2017-18 was an instrumental time in my life, and I hold the army very close to my heart. It is possibly the most unique army out there. It has made its mark countless times before, and it deserves to make its mark again.
Ulysses Nardo : What inspired me to bring back the Romans is the growing stagnation in the CPA community. For years, the meta has remained largely unchanged, with the same strategies, tactics, and styles being recycled without much innovation or excitement. It’s time to shake things up and that’s exactly what Romans is here to do. We’ll be focusing on injecting creativity, evolving the meta, and inspiring other armies to rethink how they approach battles. Romans isn’t just reviving; we’re here to be the catalyst that drives the community forward into a more dynamic, engaging future.

What goals have you set for the Romans in this generation?

Games: Our goal for this generation is to build a lasting community that endures and thrives, and to prove those who have openly stood against us wrong.
Djgtjvgyhxgy : Our primary goal is to have fun, as it should be for every army. The secondary goal is to establish an inclusive, lasting community that’ll hopefully become a CPA mainstay going forward.
Smurf : Since I am quite busy with school and work, my main goal is to have fun with it. Romans is a place where people can chill, hang out, and talk about fun things. We have a few cool ideas to implement during this revival, so stay tuned for what is to come.
Ulysses Nardo : We’re committed to pushing the boundaries of what a Club Penguin army can be by introducing new gameplay mechanics and integrated storylines that add strategic depth, immersion, and excitement to our events and battles. One of our biggest ambitions is to evolve CPA into a proper RPG experience by blending tactical combat with rich story arcs to make every event feel like an epic chapter in an ongoing saga. By combining gameplay innovation with narrative elements, Romans aims to transform how armies engage their members and opponents, creating a deeper, more immersive experience for everyone involved.

Do you have any message you’d like to share with the community as the Romans return?

Games: To the community as a whole, I want to remind everyone that CPA isn’t that serious. Focus on things that actually matter: find a suitable career, build real friendships, and take care of your physical health. community as a whole, I want to remind everyone that CPA isn’t that serious. Focus on things that actually matter: find a suitable career, build real friendships, and take care of your physical health.
Djgtjvgyhxgy :The Romans have much to offer our prospective members and the community at large. Our army has a unique identity and history that traces all the way back to the beginning; Furthermore, we’ll be hosting events unlike any other in the CPA space, both inspired by the early years of the community and entirely new concepts such as our “Dragon Slayer” themed launch event. If you’re a CPA history buff, a nostalgic veteran, someone with a limited schedule who wants to be part of a group that’ll respect their boundaries or just a member of the community who yearns for a fresh experience, we encourage you to join us. Even if you’re unable to join due to prior commitments, we welcome all to join in on our events should they wish to mix things up.
Smurf : Redimus invicti.
Ulysses Nardo : Progress is the lifeblood of any community. Without it, even the most active scene will eventually fall to stagnation. The future of CPA depends on our willingness to evolve, try new things, and reimagine what’s possible. The best days need not be behind us; they’re ahead, but only if we’re bold enough to bring them to life.,

It seems the revival of the Romans is driven by passion, legacy, and creativity. Leaders aim to blend the army’s rich history with a fresh, modern approach. Their focus is on building a fun, lasting, and inclusive community. Each leader brings a unique motivation. For some, it’s about nostalgia. For others, it’s about innovation or reconnecting with old friends. Together, they hope to create events that break away from traditional formats and offer something new to the community. With experienced leaders and a clear vision, the Romans are ready to make their mark once again.

Club Penguin Armies Official wishes the Romans all the best in their journey. Furthermore, we thank their leaders for generously taking the time to speak with us.
